Calculating perpendicular RP
Hi, I often encounter tangential motion, which I'm unable to "clean up" by varying thresholds. This may be because it is mostly in the near vicinity of the diagonal line, so I'm not sure if it can be cleaned up so easily. I attached a RP as a example (diagonal line removed). So I was wonde...

Significance for RQA measures of symmetry/asymmetry
Hi,
I'm trying to find out which system leads the other and computed the RQA measures (RR) of symmetry/asymmetry. Look promising so far, but how to determine the significance of those measures?
Thanks in advance

Re: window size
Hi @ll,
can you please tell me, where to find this method in the Thesis? Also..is it still applied?
Or are there any new methods for determining an "optimal" window size or some general recommendations respectively?
Thanks

CRPs and twin surrogate data
Hi, I was wondering how to create surrogate data with the twinsurr function for two time series in order to estimate the significance of the RR,DET .. values from their CRP. My idea was to generate 100 surrogate datasets for the first and 100 for the second time series, then calculate CRPs and RP me...

cross recurrence plot
Hi :), I'm trying to determine the time lag between two time series as done here: http://www.recurrence-plot.tk/crps.php I calculated the CRP with the crq2 function and used dimension 4 and distance of 1.2 and delay of 1. Now that I got the plot, I'm not sure how to proceed and to calculate the RP m...

Re: RP with reaction times: Dimension and delay
Thanks for the fast reply I think an answer depends on your research question. For example, do you need a time resolved RQA? From your plots I can see that you divided your very short time series again in smaller chunks of length 40. This is really very short. You should know that then the statistic...

RP with reaction times: Dimension and delay
Hi, I was wondering if it makes sense to use RP for the analysis of reaction times? The idea behind this is that some cognitive system generates a time series of reaction times and that I can reconstruct the attractor in phase space. Three questions arise: 1. The minimal number of data points I have...

Re: Recurrence Plot for binary variable?
Ok..thanks..just to be sure. I attached a screenshot of an analysis with a binary timeseries. Here, the treshold is 0.2 and I used euclidian norm. Is this correct? I assume I can interpret the values of RR, DET asf. in the same way as with a continuous variable?

Re: Recurrence Plot for binary variable?
Thank you!
Is this approach implemented in the matlab software (crqa), i.e. when I just compute the RR,LAM,DET asf. for a binary variable as normally done with my continuous variable?

Recurrence Plot for binary variable?
I was wondering, if it is possible to compute the RP also for a binary variable which alternates between 0 and 1? I'm really not sure, if the phase space reconstruction makes sense in such a case

Computing Laminarity
Hi,
I have 10 timeseries and I want to compute the Lamniarity for all of those without using the gui-interface. Unfortunately I don't know how the commands are to save to compute the crp and the LAM and save it into an array. Can anybody help me out with which matlab code to use?
