Re: Multivariate non-time series

Similar to this previous question: (http://forum.recurrence-plot.tk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3591). I'd like to take multivariate data (independent feature1, feature2, ..., featureN) and convert each row into an image for classification. There are perhaps 10 features as well as a dependent variable,...

Re: 10th Recurrence Plot Symposium in Japan

We would like to announce the 10th International Symposium on Recurrence Plots which will be held at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Tsukuba, Japan, August 28-30, 2023; as a satellite conference of ICIAM 2023 in Tokyo. For the moment, we plan a regular conferenc...

Re: Transitivity?

Referring to Reference Manual Version 5.22, Release 32, are there any scientific papers defing or discussing "local recurrence rate" and RQA measure #13, Transitivity? There are not so many on the local RR (although I have included it in my lectures on recurrence analysis). The first one ...

Re: function for general synchronization

Dear sir, I wanted to ask if there exists any function in the CRP toolbox to compute GPR for general synchronization like there exists CPR for phase synchronization? No, because the calculation is so easy. You have simply to calculate the RPs of the individual systems and multiply them to get the J...

Re: Installation in HPC

Hi, I'm not sure about the architecture of your HPC. But in our system,we have a login node where I can install and test software. Then, when submitting the job, the used nodes are able to access the same folder. Thus, no problem. In your case, as far as I understand, you have no access to the used ...

Re: unthresholded recurrence plots images

Hi All, I want to use CRP for calculating RQA. R = crp (x) gives the threshold matrix. Is there any way to have the unthreshold matrix or save unthreshold RQA image? Regards Sure. As it is specified in the help of this function, the corresponding flag is "distance" (or in short "dis&...

New functions in CRP Toolbox regarding corrections

After long time some new functions (embed, skel_crp, dl) have been included into the Cross Recurrence Plot Toolbox for MATLAB , mainly providing the corrections proposed in Kraemer & Marwan, Phys. Lett. A 383 (2019). DOI:10.1016/j.physleta.2019.125977 . skel_crp is a new function and allows to c...

Re: pss function and other methods to find proper radius for CRQA

Yes, for radius I meant recurrence threshold ε. As for the research question i'm interested in analyzing the dynamics between two people performing the same movements at the same time. To this regard if I were interested to just the line of synchronization, inputting in the crqad function a lag = 0...

Re: RR calculation using CRQAD and phasesynchro

Should be the same. I have to check. Perhaps there is another norm selected or the time series was normalised by default. Do you have a short example? I could use it to check the code.

Re: pss function and other methods to find proper radius for CRQA

Hi, I guess with "radius" you mean the recurrence threshold ε? There are really many ideas out now to identify the "optimal" recurrence threshold ε. However, it really depends on the research question. If you like to compare two time series with CRP, it might be best to use simpl...

Re: Multivariate RP

The multivariate RP is nothing else than using the different time series as the different components of the phase space vector. Therefore, there is no difference to the standard approach, as far as I see it.

Re: Dear sir! help me !About the threshold!!!

The threshold selection depends on the research question and the data. If your data has many outliers or behaves like from a non-stationary process, a normalisation and using a threshold in units of the standard deviation might not be the best choice. Then consider the slecetion that preserves a pre...
