Re: joint vs CRP
Hi Jessica, a CRP tests for the simultaneous occurrences of similar states in two different systems, whereas a JRP tests for the simultaneous occurrences of recurrences in two different states (where the states can be really very different). Further explanations with regard to an application can be ...

Dotplots and Chaos Computer Club
I have just learned that dot plots (rather similar to recurrence plots) are also interesting tools for network security. During the 23rd Chaos Computer Club Conference in Berlin Dan Kaminsky gave a talk "Black Ops 2006 Viz Edition" where he mentioned and presented dot plots in IT security....

Re: matlab reboot error
this error is simply of some incompatibility between the different matlab versions. but it doesn't affect the work with toolbox. because mathworks changed the style of the xml files with each new matlab version, i gave up to fix it everytime. sorry. could you check if the crp toolbox was installed, ...

hello softstone,
could you please send me the error report by email together with a brief description what you have done and the data series.
thanks

Re: New publications
Hello Rajesh, thanks for pointing to some problems. However, it is still unclear, where you have found the error, because the link you mentioned is just a web site using frames. Could you please send us the URL on which the "error" occurred? You can find it by opening the frame in a separa...

Re: joint recurrence plot software
First, I forgot to mention that you can also use the "commandline recurrence plot" tool, which allows to calculate RQA from bivariate JRPs. However, for your purpose it could be more interesting to compare the diagonal-wise computed RR of the two data series, as it is performed to study ph...

Re: joint recurrence plot software
Can you use Matlab? Then you could use the CRP toolbox. Using this toolbox and with few lines of code you can compute RQA of JRPs. But may I ask why you need to compute the RQA measures from JRPs? What is your goal?

I would suggest to have it every two years. Thus your suggestion fits well.

Re: 3rd RP Workshop - Locations
Hi Raphael,
I love the idea to move the workshop to a more focused view, i.e. that the next workshops are more dedicated to special topics.
Thanks for your suggestion of Montreal. This would also be a great location.
I hope that we have also some further comments on that issue.
Best regards
Norbert

Re: Complex data
Dear Adrian,
you can try the command crp2, which allows to compute a recurrence plot from a multicolumn vector, representing the phase space vectors, or, as in your case, the two components real and imaginary part.
Best regards
Norbert
