Re: recurrence threshold
Dir sir: I use CRP toolbox ,i have some puzzle about the function ‘crp(x,m,t,e)’ and ‘pss’; e represent the threshold, but when i choose the norm ‘euclidean’,and set the e =2,like 'crp(x,3,1,2,'euclidean')',I noticed that there is a title on the picture ‘Dimention:3 Delay:1 threshold: 2σ’ ,i dont ko...

Re: recurrence threshold
Dear all, For a noisy time series, it is mentioned in the literature that the threshold should be around 5*sigma. I wanted to ask if this sigma is the standard deviation of the time series? No, it is the standard deviation of the observation noise. This threshold value (5σ) is actually much too hig...

Re: Sir, Please clarify my doubt
Sir my topic of research is the nonlinear analysis of solar wind. My doubt is, “is it possible to use cross recurrence plot to study similarity in the dynamics of solar wind speed and the interplanetary magnetic field. Hi, before answering this question, we should be clear about the research questi...

Re: Theiler window for vertical structures
This is completely right. For the measures based on vertical structures, I suggest to include the LOI and not to apply the Theiler window. This should also be noted in the explanation of the method when a publication is prepared.

Re: Denominator for Recurrence Rate
This is really a good point. When the LOI is not excluded, the denominator is N × N . There are some special cases where this definition of RR is helpful. In other applications, it can be required to exclude the LOI, then the denominator is N ( N –1). Further, a Theiler window can be required, which...

Re: Spatial data analysis
As far as I know, there is no public software for it. I myself have developed a C++ code but it is only for a pilot study and I need to check again whether it is maturated enough to be used for general purpose or other data. Moreover, the code is more than 10 years old …

Re: Bands of white space in RPs
Hi Pier,
the empty region means that the states in this epoch do not occur at any other times. These state are unique. Perhaps you could also show us the time series?

Re: CRP for aggregation?
No, it is not possible. The base of the CRP is the distance between two points (on two different phase space trajectories).

Yes, sure. As long as you don't delete the install.m file, you can use it several times, also at other machines.
